| SkillsNET Hosts Annual Technical Advisory Board Meeting |
SkillsNET’s annual Technical Advisory Board (TAB) meeting was held recently at its corporate headquarters in Waxahachie, Texas. SkillsNET executives and scientists gathered to welcome nine distinguished TAB members, consisting of top industrial-organizational (I-O) psychologists and human resource experts in their respective fields. Information about the individual TAB members can be found at SkillsNET’s website, www.skillsnet.com. SkillsNET hosted a very successful and productive one and a half-day session. From a high-level perspective, the meeting was dedicated to updating the TAB members of current and future projects and research directions, advancing the science of industrial-organizational psychology, and engaging TAB members individually and collectively in upcoming months to enhance SkillsNET’s business model and further the company’s vision. In accordance with SkillsNET’s overarching vision and near-term objectives, several important meeting outcomes are reported. First, it is clear that above all, SkillsNET is the world’s premier job analysis consulting firm, boasting the only patented job analysis methodology and related online technology; the SkillObject® is, without a doubt, the future of job analysis. Second, SkillsNET will get more involved with industry-recognized conferences and tradeshows to get the word out about many of its leading-edge products and services. Third and also in 2008, SkillsNET will flood the market with publications, both business and research-oriented. Articles will appear in top-tier peer-reviewed journals, human resource outlets both locally and nationally, and well-recognized business magazines. Topic areas will include those that SkillsNET offers specialized expertise in such as job analysis, workforce metrics, skills and human capital management, the Occupational Information Network (O*NET), among others. Finally, SkillsNET will regularly engage TAB members to conduct collaborative research, develop pertinent long-term research streams, respond to requests for proposals and related business inquiries, and bolster SkillsNET’s already established and soon-to-be-developed products. SkillsNET's Chief Scientist Darrel Sandall summarized the TAB meeting by saying, "We believe that the Technical Advisory Board members and the Technical Advisory Board meeting were extremely beneficial in providing strategic guidance and insight to assist in SkillsNET's efforts in advancing the science of occupational analysis for our nation." |
