Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Performs Workload Analysis with SkillsNET

WAXAHACHIE, TX April 2007 -

SkillsNET® Government Ltd is currently involved in a work effort with the Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), whose mission is to provide the safest and most efficient aerospace system in the world. In a collaborative effort, both SkillsNET and the FAA are aiming to help reduce delays and make air travel more reliable.

Specifically, SkillsNET is performing a workload analysis for two positions within the Air Traffic Organization (ATO) structure. The positions include Traffic Management Coordinator (TMC) and Supervisory Traffic Management Coordinator (STMC). The focus of the analyses includes the review and description of various work activities at multiple levels and units of analysis. Attributes such as duration, required personnel, and consequences of unsuccessful performance (among other characteristics) are being evaluated to fully explore TMC and STMC workload requirements. Results of these analyses will be used to develop staffing models, thereby enhancing the reliability of air travel. This critical initiative is part of a wide-ranging transformation of the entire airspace system.

About SkillsNET
SkillsNET provides a revolutionary tool suite and consulting service, which allows enterprises to rapidly capture work, worker, and workplace skill data elements (SkillObjects®) and their relationship to performance. The SkillsNET methodology allows employers to capture their workforce environment through web-based applications with minimal worker and capital investment. Highly trained Skills Analysts and Industrial and Organizational Psychologists, available on-site or via phone, assist the employee and employer through the data collection process. At the end of the process, employers receive a detailed analysis of the skill base required in their workforce, the level of skill in the current workforce, and the performance standards needed to operate in today's dynamic environment. SkillsNET methodology is aligned with the Department of Labor O*NET taxonomy. For additional information please visit www.skillsnet.com.
