Monster.com Chooses SkillsNET® to Study Occupation and Industry Classification Framework

WAXAHACHIE, TX September 8, 2006 -

SkillsNET has recently completed a work effort with Monster.com, an industry leader in the online job board and career space. This initiative provided Monster with a perspective from experts in the field of job analysis and classification in order to achieve a more comprehensive solution.

This was a win-win relationship; with SkillsNET having the opportunity to work with yet another industry leading organization, and Monster obtaining a more robust job categorization framework to enable their customers to identify more targeted candidates. It will also allow job seekers to obtain more relevant job search results.

In addition to verifying comprehensive and complete industry and job categorization schemas, SkillsNET ensured that Monster's system aligned with accepted industry classification standards, such as the Bureau of Labor Statistics' Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) and the Department of Labor's Occupational Information Network (O*NET). "We are pleased that a high-visibility company such as Monster chose us to provide them with expert knowledge and recommendations on a framework that will one day play a critical role in the functionality of their website applications", said SkillsNET's Vice President of Business Development, Jon Levine.
